Rather than becoming desperate Shadowleaps anger was setting upon a boil, and as he was about to just rip it loose, his tail finally came free. He cringed feeling the blood trickle down in a spiral from the open wound in its middle. It pooled itself none to gloriously on the ground, sending small shivers up his spine. The sight of his own blood still gave him slight trauma, as if he were being sucked dry of all the blood he feasted on with his anger. The bulky tom was roused from his shock by furious screeches. Dust was picking up behind and he turned to view the chaotic sight of his leader grasping the fox as it barrel rolled dangerously. She'd kill herself if she kept this stratagem. His eyes burned through the scene searching frantically for a chance to jump in. He tried to focus calming, slowing his breathing so his view would be more clear. Rushing in Shadowleap misjudged the foxes rotation and his teeth met the harder back end of his neck, however the prepared tom dropped all his weight dangerously on its head to halt the roll.
In effect the foxes neck was injured but not before its teeth sank into Shadowleaps underbelly. With out allowing the pain to harass his judgment he bit quickly a second time into the softer part of its neck. Every body part of his enemy twitching as blood spewed into the toms mouth. His black coat of fur was twitching as he pushed harder into its throat until the end was obvious. It'd been a while since this cat had tasted blood in such amounts. He pulled away from the carcass and spit out a mouthful of the liquid. Disgusting. The image of his leader fell into his mind reminding him of her need for assistance. He was the medicine cat after all. Shadowleap hadn't even felt the red devils teeth pull out from his underbelly but a trail was evident. He forced himself to keep still padding over to his leader.

Ravenstar smirked, she spat out blood from the back of the foxes neck, and looked as it laid in a crumbled heap on the ground. "Nice" she meowed to Shadowleap, she looked over at his tail, her eyes then trailed off to the other fox.

"I cant believe it. How do foxes set up a trap, or at least thats what it seemed like." For a moment he lingered on his own question but soon he was pushed back to his usual duties. His eyes were looking at the picturesque Ravenstar, and the most obvious was her shoulder. "You've opened up that wound further with your stunt, the rolling I mean." His wonder was intensified by the fact that she appeared so far not to be bothered by it. The thought crossed his mind that she may just not have notice it. Among that serious wound she had many scratches and small cuts from the roll. Another apparent wound almost escaped his careful eyes, "Looks like this a lot for you to shoulder." His crude joke made him chuckle. The second bad wound was a place were the foxes teeth had grasped her back. "Anything more serious that I can't see other than your back and shoulder? Any sort of pain in your bones, dislocations or awkward feelings?"

Ravenstar looked at her shoulder, 'that stupid fox cut me, if it wasn't already dead i'd kill it again' she mentally cursed. Ravenstar shook her head, everything else was fine, just the two wounds. She glared at him, when he joked about her shoulder. Ravenstar metally kicked herself, "Stupid fox" she muttered.

He relaxed a little knowing safely that was the only physical damage. "I guess we better return to camp, we cant let your wounds get infected." He paused feeling as he was being one sided, "Nor mine. The clan hierarchy isn't much use with two important figureheads down and out." As they padded slowly back through the the shadowed eerily silent woods he was glad to have gathered feverfew the night before. Just in case either of them did get sick. The ground was soft, despite the lack of rain lately, but what he noticed more than that was the sticky feeling that enshrouded his black pelt as a different hue of red. It was uncomfortable, and now that his responses were dulling with the fights aftermath all pain seemed to glare, sending out annoying signals of itching burning heat. It was a miracle they'd survived without any horrid incident. It was lucky for them that the foxes didn't appear to have much battle experience.
Sensing the camp was close now the tom couldn't help but increase his pace.

Ravenstar nodded and trailed behind him. Her tail swayed back and forth as they padded though the think woods, camp was near, she could tell by the way Shadowleap increased his speed, she stayed at the same pace walking slowly. Her eyes darted back and forth, searching the woods. She padded into camp the air was tense around her, she couldn't tell why. Ravenstar looked over at Shadowleap.

The heavy stares of other cats fell upon the duo as they entered. At first Shadowleap tried to ignore them but in the end he decided to shoe them off. "Just wait until Ravenstar makes her announcement, she's not incapable of recuperation. Our wounds aren't that bad." Pushing through the throng Shadowleap made his way into his homely den. The normality of the place soothed him and he began searching for Marigold, Comfrey, Dock, and finally cobweb. He chewed the radiant yellow petals swiftly and applied them first to his leaders shoulder, then to her back wound. "You chew up this comfrey and apply it to those wounds next." He instructed. Grabbing the dock he began tediously spreading the poultice to his leaders scratches, the one present on his own face burning intensely. Once he finished he waited for the a-ok from his leader that she finished applying the comfrey before he would start setting the cobwebs in place.

Ravenstar winced a few times, but nodded, she chewed up the comfrey and carfully applied it to her wounds, she nodded at Shadowleap. She turned and looked at the entrance of the Medicine cat's den, "It was strange that two foxes would attack at once" she pointed out.

His mind wandered as he was led back onto the subject of the foxes. Yes it is strange, but what gets me is that they were so prepared. They'd even covered themselves in mud so we could not scent them." (Meant to put that in during fox fight but forgot) Not musing over the thought much longer Shadowleap finally picked up the cobwebs and placed them tightly around each of his leaders wounds. "That should do it, but if you could stay..." He trailed off annoyed with embarrassment grumpily stating, "I need you to dress my wounds in the same way I showed you." Min aren't quite as major as yours are. My tail, my underbelly, and this bothersome claw mark on my left cheek. The only place that needs a cobweb is my tail, but it might be safe to put some on my underbelly to." All these places were unreachable for his own paws and he resented that fact. However the fight left him tired and not prone to arguing.

She smirked with amusement, she nodded, "Alright" she mused, starting to treat his wounds the same way he had. 'those foxes... there's no way they could really be that smart, they had to have help' she thought, when she finished dressing the wounds the put cobweb on Shadowleaps tail and some on his underbelly.

"Maybe." His eyes remained transfixed on his herb shelves helping him to ignore the sticky feeling of the webs beginning to cover his body. He imagined another creature of the woods even attempting to associate with a dangerous animal of that magnitude. "I just don't see the picture you see, I can't imagine anyone wanting to struggle through a conversation with those bloodthirsty beasts." The words not unlike himself flashed through his mind elusively but he averted registering the thought. "Foxes alone may not be known for guile, but..." He was immersed in wonder so he did not notice when Ravenstar finished patching him up. "I think it was one of their own, although I guess it doesn't really matter what happened but its imperative we put a stop to anything further." Shadowleap wished their wouldn't be another, but in his gut he felt it was inevitable.

Ravenstar nodded, but the image was glued into her head, "Mhmm" she mumbled, "I suppose, but they were never really that smart, no way they would ever be able to come up with such a clever plan" She retorted a hint of fury swelled in her voice. "If I ever see another fox I swear I will tear it's throat out" She muttered. Turning the other way she searched the room, she was still paranoid from her dream and always felt like she was being watched it was drving her crazy.

"You just tore out the throat of a fox and your already trying to seize the chance for more blood. I feel outmatched." He laughed. "I know it feels good but like I told you last night thats the very thing I'm trying to avoid." He felt very open despite having had muddled thoughts previously. "I guess I'm preaching to the great leader though right, you already know that your just looking to vent." He chuckled, "Well I cant say I appreciate your help." He flicked his tail in am effort to test it. "But it wasn't a bad job, thats the best you get."

Ravenstar frowned, 'I hate it when he makes a good point' she metal kicked herself. She snorted, she admired his bravery, but in truth he knew alot more about her then anyone else, which is probably why she takes his points into consideration. However no one can truly know all about Ravenstar she was a mystery that couldn't be solved and she planed to keep it that way. "Fine" she breathed out.

Shadowleaps stomach echoed feebly in the den, in response he closed his eyes annoyed as if trying to push away the interruption. "We never did get any for the clan." The dawning of this made him feel suddenly stupid an awkward. "Should we go out again to see if we cant catch something more than nothing." It really irked him when he didn't accomplish a task he had already set for himself, much less to forget about it entirely. The light breeze of mid day came wearily into the entrance refreshing his tired limbs. He wondered if they should collect a hunting party although the name would be contrary to its required performance. Defense against another attack.
